Schoodic Lake is managed by the Maine Department of Inland Fish and Wildlife as both a warm water and cold-water fishery. Schoodic Lake is located in the western part of the region, in the Piscataquis River drainage. Access is provided from the Brownville side at Knights Landing, and a unimproved landing in the Town of Lakeview. Schoodic Lake is 10 miles long and 2 miles wide, the depth of the lake is 188 feet. The lake is one of the state's premier fishing areas. Schoodic Lake is one of the finest Togue (Lake Trout) fishing in the northeast. Our Brook Trout, Bass and Cusk is second to none. The water is crystal clear and is spring fed as this adds to our clean, cold waters.
