Owls Head Bay Description

Wake to the sound of waves lapping at the rocky shore that makes Maine famous. Just a short way from Rockland and Camden, this quiet stretch of coastline is a spectacular vacation destination for those seeking to get away from it all. Owl's Head is a town in Knox County, incorporated on July 9, 1921 from a portion of South Thomaston. Owls Head Light Station marks the southern entrance to Rockland Harbor. Built in 1826, the 87 foot granite lighthouse is approachable by car since it is located on the headland. Owls Head State Park offers views of Penobscot Bay and the nearby Owls Head Transportation Museum contains vintage aircraft frequently flown over the Bay. All types of angling exists here. Inshore,offshore, or right from the beaches, or piers.
