A1- Stump Pond

Had the day off from work so I took off and headed to Stump Pond. Arrived at 0600 and the sun was just coming up. There wasn't anyone there except a bunch of swans, Canadian Geese and some Mallard Ducks. Fished all morning and not a bite. I threw everything, big swimbaits (Hudd 68), small swimbaits, squarebill crankbaits, lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbait, swim jig, frogs, hollow bellied rat.... I covered the clear part of the pond, I worked my way to the back of the Stump Field. I worked lures slow and I worked them fast.
Got my first bite at 11:15 on a Live Target Golden Shiner Lipless Crankbait. Largemouth Bass, about 1.5 lbs. Got my second bite about 3 minutes later. Largemouth Bass, about 2 lbs. That was it for the day. Wind started picking up.
Water Temperature was 50-54 degrees, visibility about 3 feet. Shallows were clear of standing vegetation with a mat on the bottom. No evidence of clearing for beds in any of the areas I paddle/floated through.
Deeper water had standing vegetation from bottom up to close to three feet from the surface with clear channels through the weeds in various places.
Water levels seem to be up a little compared to last summer's levels. Stumps that were visible last summer are submerged at this time.
